Birthday Fishes

"I want to be under the sea, in an Octopus' garden in the shade." This card is inspired by a Beatles song that my husband sings around the house ALL THE TIME.  :)
Octopus' Garden Birthday Fishes
I used the Sunsational Stamps super adorable digi set Ocean Critters 1 and 2 to make this shaker card.  I colored these cute little ocean critters with my alcohol markers.  For the background and frame I blended Mermaid Lagoon, Faded Jeans and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink onto watercolor paper and then spritzed it with water.  I let the water sit on it for about a minute before I pressed a paper towel onto the paper to dry.  I like the bubbly spots this technique leaves.

I used a rectangle die to cut the center out, I adhered a piece of acetate to the backside of the frame and added foam tape around backside of frame.  I adhered the solid rectangle to the card base and added the shaker elements.  I colored very small versions of the starfish, shells and turtles to add as additional shaker elements along with the beads and sequins.  I placed the acetate layer on top, added the ocean critter on top of the acetate and the 'Fishing You' are from my Doodlebug Teeny Type stickers.
I stamped the inside with a Raisin Boat sentiment and added one more turtle, because he is my VERY favorite!

Sunsational Swim Time Fun

Greetings crafty friends. LeeAnn here today with my latest inspiration project. This one is using the Swim/Beach/Ocean theme.
For this project I used 2 of our great stamps:
Cool Cari:
Cool Caleb:

The first thing I did was use tumbled glass distress ink to formulate the summer sky look. After printing the images, I cut away the raft from Caleb and the ball from Cari. using some rectangular stitched dies and lawn fawn grass and hillside stamps I cut the landscaping and pool. I placed Caleb and Cari in the pool and the raft and ball outside in an arrangement that made me happy.

All images colored with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers:
Tree: DG3, LG2, GB7, TN3, EB5
Pool Float: FL2, FL3
Beach Ball: DR6, TB5
Body: FS2, FS3
Caleb's Hair, Eyes: TN3, TN4
Caleb's Float: LG5, DG1, TB4
Caleb's Goggles: DG1
Cari's Hair: LY2, CT2
Cari's Eyes: TB4
Cari's Float: FL1, PL1, IG1
Cari's Goggles: PL1
Background Sky: Tumbled Glass Distress Ink

I hope you enjoy my Swim Time Fun project, and that you will be sure to come back tomorrow to see what Shylee has in store for you.

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with another post for Sunsational Stamps. As we are heading towards Father's Day, I've created a card for Dad.

Aren't the cute?  What golfer wouldn't love this card?  And it's so easy to customize just for dad.  What color are his clubs?  What is the club flag?  Make it special just for dad.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Cool Cari

I used Cool Cari for my card today.
I attempted a magic color slider card.  I'm not really sure I did it right, but I do like how it turned out so I'm going with it.

I love this seashell paper and will be so sad if they discontinue it.
I used a mask to cover her up and sponged the background using Tim Holtz inks.

Be sure to check out the new additions in the shop.
And don't forget our challenge!

Sea-Sational Ocean Critters by Sarah Rosse

Hello friends, Sarah here with a card from the ocean! This card uses the gorgeous whale from the Critters digital stamp set. This can be purchased instore at the Sunsational Stamps store by clicking here. As you see below, this has many options for all of your beach, swimming or ocean themed projects.

The background of this card was created using Zig clean colour brush markers. As pictured below, I scribbled various shades of blue on to my craft mat, then spritzed with water. I then took my piece of cardstock through this and ended up with this beautiful mix of colours.

I then used an embossing folder "Bubble" in my collection to give the impression for the card background. I love the look of this with the blue colours. The whale was coloured using the Zig clean colour brush markers with a water brush pen. I have layered the whale to give a raised affect amongst the waves. The sentiment is from Jess Craft Digitals. Let's take a closer look at him.

I hope you have enjoyed this post and background ideas, please don't forget about our monthly challenge (the theme is Swim, Beach, Ocean) you still have time to enter. The challenge post can be found at https://sunsationalstamps.blogspot.com.au/2017/05/may-sunsational-challenge-swim-beach.html Until next time....

Ocean Critters

Good morning - it's Helen here to share a card I've made using the very cute 'Ocean Critters' digi stamp set:

You can find the set here in the Sunsational Stamps shop.

I printed the whole set out ad then used the bottom two critters plus the wave as my card base.  I then cut out the little octupus and attached him with foam tape to give the card some dimension.

All the elements were coloured with Promarkers and then layered up with some plain and patterned papers.

Talking of the ocean .... have you seen our May challenge yet?  The theme is 'swim - beach - ocean' and you can enter using any products although you will get extra entries in the draw if you use products from Sunsational Stamps.

Have a look here for all the details.

Enjoy your weekend!

Helen x
